Laura, you totally should have gone to that Trey show at Lupo's prior to the Hampton Phish shows. Not only is the venue small and intimate, but he brought out some guests for the encore. Bill Kreutzman, Oteil Burbridge, and Scott Murawski came out for a sick First Tube.

As for how good the band is is, I wouldn't travel more than an hour or 2 for them. I've seen him a few times, the first in 2001 during the hiatus with the 7 or 8 or 9 piece band (maybe even the 10 piece). It was fun, but the jamming got boring and they were better off keeping songs to 6-10 min in length. Then I saw him with 70 Volt Parade a couple times and they were ok, but I wasn't really impressed. Then I saw him with Mike and the Russo/Benevento Duo opening for Phil and Friends. They were pretty good.

I'm sorry I offended you so. I'll try and do better next time. Nick and Steve...you hear that? Sounds like you need to punish me. I've been a very naughty noob.

Another great podcast--I really liked the guest this episode--in my opinion, by far the most knowledge and fun interview that you guys have done--he actually knew the tunes and why they mattered...In any event @ ~45:30 minutes in we get this exchange:

Laura: I have never seen a Yonder show.
Nick: Oh Man...you haven't?
Laura: I know! I am sorry...I went to a lot of Phish.

WHAT!?!

Suddenly noob Laura is some grizzled Phish Phan?

Who does not have time for other bands?

Who has an opinion on 20 Years?

Really? Her opinion is so safe and predictable that it clearly comes from the guy who last sold her a kind veggie burrito...

Seriously, Laura--what KEY is 20 Years Later in? Why does that matter? Sometimes I really wonder what has become of our scene!

Back in my day we made newbies perform every single one of the acts described in the song before they could even speak at a show. And then it was only in line. For the portajohns. At set break.

And now She loves Glide? Really?!? That MSG story was not a joke? I bought my Tide-logo Glide hat on '94 tour, when it meant something.

Laura's hipper then heady attitude will need to change, and change soon! God lord, what are the teaching the kids today. The fact that she corrects Steve's "Phish tour" with that smug "TAB tour" is the icing on the cake--two weeks ago she did not even know who TAB was. And to mock his stress level hitting the lot, good lord gentlemen, something really must be done....and soon before this gets much worse.

This show alone earned her 20 additional months of newbie status...Thanks, David S.
