We’ve got a short episode for you this week as there’s not much going on with “The State of the Lot” these days. Be sure to check out Camp Bisco 9 as well as the Gordo March Tour Run and Les Claypool has a tour and wine announcement. There’s also a few shows going on at the Brooklyn Bowl that are worth checking out.
We also have a bit of sad news, Laura or “Noob Laura” as so many of you know her as taken an indefinite leave from TWoL. Laura, we wish you the best and the door is always open for ya! That being said, we now have an opening for someone interested in giving reports, producing the podcast etc. Hit us up either through email or preferably through our voicemail line at 419-NO-WOOKS; leave us message telling us what you could bring to the podcast.

Just thought I’d pop in to bring some attention to Mountain Jam this year!
Was listenin’ to #17 this morning and didn’t hear Mountain Jam listed as one of the stops for Les Claypool.
I see it’s not on his official tour list page yet, but he’s confirmed on the initial lineup released just about a week ago. (http://mountainjam.com/index.php?page=line_up)
Been going to this show for a while now, and it’s always a must on my summer festy tour (Living only an hour from Hunter doesn’t hurt either)
anyways, just though I’d bring that up for anyone visiting hoping to catch some bass melts this summer in the North East!
Thanks for the Mountain Jam reminder. I had a good time at that venue for CB a few years ago. If bisco is added to that line-up, and Phish isn’t playing, I could definitely see myself hitting this up. Les, Franti, DSO, and YMSB are enticing for sure.
Have you been to Hunter for Mountain Jam before? I might recall hearing “security” issues. LMK
Thanks,
Steve
Hola, Another great episode.
I am liking the rotating guest type format. I was thinking you should get a Waterwheel representative or that guy who runs the green team:
http://www.reverb.org/project/phish/partners.htm
Wooks are often attracted to ecological projects like Dave Matthews Fans to Luv Sacks and I am sure that they would have all sorts of strange stories of interacting with Wooks on lot.
I am very sad that Laura is gone (though she lasted about as long as most newbies); however, I am not really in agreement that you should be shopping for a knowledgeable phish replacement. I would encourage you to find another n00b.
I really liked the early podcasts where she was figuring stuff out, the Subway Glide tragedy story, etc.
I am not sure how you would go about getting a n00b, maybe you could run an ad in Relix for someones kid sister or something. No wait, that just sounds wrong…you could get some existing Wook youtuber to co-host. It would be classic point counter point type stuff every week.
Keep up the good work. Thanks, David S.
Dave,
I am with you 100%. Real sad to see Laura leave, hopefully she will pop her head back in from time to time. As far as a replacement, I actually think “someone’s kid sister” is a great idea. Having “noob Laura” mixed things up a bit. I definitely don’t want a clone of Nick and I. Over the next few episodes we will keep rotating in guest hosts, and I’m confident a “third” host will present him/herself in due time.
Thanks for the thoughtful input,
Steve
You should just have random female guests sit in as “someone’s kid sister.”
hey y’all – no one has posted a friendly goodbye-wave to n00b Laura. Hey Laura – you’re a cool n00b! best wishes, wherever you find yourself! thanks for the n00bness!
